Overview

The Beebe Building and the neighboring Hotel Waldorf #1 were financed by the Syracuse, NY, businessman, Clifford D. Beebe, and were part of a three-building ensemble conceived by Seattle real estate developer James W. Clise, designed by the architect Maximilian B. Umbrecht. The three buildings were the Globe Navigation Company Building, the Beebe Building and the Hotel Waldorf, all done in variations of the Italian Renaissance Style.

Building History

At least two Syracuse-based businessmen, Lyman Cornelius Smith and Clifford D. Beebe, made real estate investments in Seattle, WA, during the first two decades of the 20th century.
