Bebb and Gould designed this building to house the offices of the Puget Sound News Company, "Wholesale Booksellers, Newsdealers, Stationers, School Supplies, and Holiday Goods." The firm also manufactured many postcards of the Puget Sound Region.
In 2006, the building's facade was missing its original signage and two model paperboys housed in niches between the first and second floors.
