Plans were under way in 2006 to put funding for renovation of Hamilton International Middle School on the Seattle Public Schools levy vote in 02/2007; if passed, work would be done by the 2010-2011 school year. The City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board considered modification of the vertical wall at the west side of the playground to a series of stepped retaining walls, an alteration to an City of Seattle Landmark, on 06/18/2008.
