Building History

The Tacoma architect Robert Billsborough Price (1915-1981) designed the Hall of Industry for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.

After the fair, the American Institute of Designers (AID), Washington District, utilized the former Hall of Industry space for displays of its member's interior designs. This display was open for three summer months in summer 1963, with an admission price of 50 cents. Jean Jongeward had a display booth in the AID space. (See "World's Fair Site Reoriented to Form a Permanent Seattle Center," Architecture / West, vol. 69, no. 9. 09/1963, p. 14.)
