Bishop James A. Pike asked that a centrally-planned church be built, based on one designed by Olav Hammarstrom at Wellfleet, MA. Hammarstrom assisted Marquis and Stoller on the design, which seated 240 people. Glidden Parker, a noted New York artist, designed the stained glass window. The church had a woodsy, Bay Area look to it, covered in brown shingles. A free-standing bell tower was also shingled.
Olav Hammarstrom acted as Associate Architect on Saint Anselm's Episcopal Church, Lafayette, CA.
