This was the second of two Airdome drive-in restaurants operated by the McDonald Brothers, originators of the McDonalds hamburger chain; it was round in shape, allowing car-hops to wait on cars parked around the restaurant; later, to maximize profits, the McDonalds removed the car-hops and made customers walk to the front of the restaurant to be served; hamburger, french fries, beverages, and ice cream were served from separate windows to maximize assembly-line efficiency in the kitchen;
This barbeque restaurant was closed in 10/1948; it reopened as a McDonalds Restaurant featuring hamburgers, french fries and self-service (instead of car-hops), 12/12/1953;
