Building History

The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, one of the first transcontinental grocery chains in the United States, operated six stores in Seattle, by 09/1939; this store, with its tall advertising tower designed to catch the eye of passing motorists, opened on 09/01/1939.

The A & P Store was removed but the space housed office, retail and warehouse space in 2015, with JSH Properties owning it.

Notes

In 2015, the store occupied 12,000 square feet (0,28 acres) and contained 16,320 square feet. The land and improvements had a value of $2,994,000 in 2014-2015.

Demolition

This A and P Supermarket was demolished.
