The library occupied the building from 1913-1969; it was vacant for a period, and also used by the local police force; most recently, the City of Upland has renovated the structure for use as a Community Center; John Gerry served as the building contractor for the Upland Carnegie Library.
Altered soon after the library vacated the building to house police detectives; it was also renovated in the 1990s to house a community center;
