This shingled San Francisco town house was built c. 1905. The California cult, Synanon, owned it in the 1970s; it was divided in two after the cult left, to make two joined houses sharing a common facade;

The first phase of the renovation was by David Yama; this included creating an office and library; Yama later went to work for Peter Pfau; Pfau and Yama worked on the second phase together, the second floor of the four-story building;
