Building History

Architect Edwin Houghton (1856-1927) designed the Lippy Building (completed in 1902) and was also responsible for the neighboring Olympic Block #1 (1889-1891), done in partnership with Charles Willard Saunders (1857-1935).

On 04/11/2024, BH Properties purchased the Olympic Block #2 which at that time include the 1986 Olympic Block #2 and the neighboring Lippy Block. Together, these two buildings composed 74,660 square feet of space. (See BH Properties.com, "BH Properties Acquires Historic Olympic Block Creative Office Building in Seattle's Pioneer Square," published 04/2024, accessed 11/27/2024.)

Alteration

The Lippy Building has undergone significant alterations. It had its top floor removed following the 04/13/1949 Earthquake in Seattle.
