The 13-story hotel had 350 guest rooms and its exterior was adorned in the Mission Revival Style; shaped parapets topped the front facade. In 1933, the Mayflower was one of the first hotels owned by the Hilton Family; like the nearby Biltmore Hotel, the Mayflower was very near to Library Park. Danish-born artist Einar Petersen (1885-1986) painted a notable mural of Pilgrims for the hotel.
