Frederick Mercy, Sr., (1877-1948), a businessman who owned the Majestic, Yakima, Avenue and Liberty Theatres (1917-1918) in Yakima, WA, purchased the extant Empire Theatre. Musical performances were staged here in the early 1930s; Judy Garland appeared 02/25/1934;
