Barnes summarized his role in the Legion of Honor renovation/expansion: "Below the Court of Honor we have designed a new gallery floor with a low pyramidal skylight. A new service entrance, storage areas, and support facilities occupy the level below." (See Edward Larrabee Barnes Architect, [New York: Rizzoli, 1994], p. 252.) David Wallance served as Barnes's Project Architect.
Renovation and expansion by Edward Larrabee Barnes, 1995. Barnes worked on many designs for art museums between 1946-1998, and designed many mansions for wealthy patron with large art collections. This was the last art museum project he did.
