Building History

Alexander Cooper, Jr., was the Edward Larrabee Barnes, Architect, Project Architect for the Monterey Peninsula Junior College, Student Union-Theatre-Amphitheatre. Two firms--Keeble and Rhoda and Douglas Barker--served as CA-based Associated Architects.

Building Notes

Architect Edward Larabee Barnes stated of this project: "The campus is bisected by a ravine. The student union and theater are at its head with the amphitheater between them. The ravine is now an artery and the amphitheater a campus center." (See Edward Larrabee Barnes Architect, [New York: Rizzoli, 1994], p. 242.)
