Overview
The interval between 1890 and 1930 was a golden age for beet sugar production across CA, when many refineries were built near agricultural lands of the state. most concentrated in the Pajaro, Salinas, San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys. Sugar refineries were also launched down south, such as this one in Anaheim.
