Building History

In 1989, the Holly Sugar Company had eight processing plants; in that year, it merged with the Imperial Sugar Company, to form the Imperial Holly Corporation, a manufacturer of both cane and beet sugar.

Alteration

The architect Carl Leonhardt designed an addition to the Holly Sugar Company's Huntington Beach plant in 1912. The Engineering News reported in 1912: ""The contract for the construction of an addition to the plant of the Holly Sugar Factory at Huntington Beach has been awarded to Carl Leonhardt, Hillman Building. the structure will be of brick and steel on a concrete foundation and will cost $30,000."
