Skidmore, Owings and Merrill planned this 420-acre development on Lankershim Boulevard. The Universal City Master Plan called for three hotels to be built, a large Tivoli Gardens-style amusement park, man-made lakes for boating, restaurants, shops and theaters. In addition, a commercial component of the plan included a 15-story tower for the Music Corporation of America (MCA), the Building 80/90 office building and a 125,000-square-foot, 5-story office building. In 1975, Building 70, another 5-story structure was planned.
