As per Alice Lee's wishes, Hazel Wood Waterman designed all three of her houses, with Gill serving only as a supervisor.

A Designated Historical Landmark in the Hillcrest District of San Diego; Alice Lee, who had Gill and his partners design four income properties for her, was the sister of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first wife.
