Building Notes

This house contained four bedrooms and two baths when built; Philippine mahogany plywood paneling, a trait of houses by the developer Joseph Eichler (1900-1974), lined the living and dining areas. Eichler constructed three tracts in Orange, CA: Fairhaven Tract (begun in 1960), Fairmeadow (begun in 1962), and Fairhills (begun in 1963). He also used the name "Fairmeadow" for a tract in Palo Alto, CA, in the early 1950s. In total, Eichler erected about 350 residences in Orange, over half the number he built in all of Southern CA (600).
