Building History
The Addison Family owned the former Bell Mattress Company in Ventura. They came to the city from South Africa, where they had resided until the early 1950s. They became active in local organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura. They commissioned the well-known architect Carl L. Maston to design this residence set on a 15,000 square-floot lot. The house was well-published during its time, appearing House and Home in 11.1960 and Architectural Recordin 05/1961.
