The Foy House was relocated twice. It originally occupied a lot on the corner of Grasshopper (later renamed "Pearl" and then "Figueroa") Street and 7th Street. It was moved to 631–633 South Witmer Street before 1920. In 1993, it was again transported to 1335-1341 ½ Carroll Avenue.

Building History

Mary E. Foy, the first woman to hold the office of Los Angeles City Librarian in 1880, resided in this house, which was moved from Witmer Street in 1993.
