According to Historylink writer, Heather McIntosh, a local contractor, Howard C. Stone, built this 2-story, vernacular, gable-front building for the Woodmen of the World fraternal order in 1894. A Masonic group, the Mark P. Waterman Lodge #177--purchased it from the Woodmen in 1925. The Masons have rented the first floor to commercial entities and utilized the second floor for fraternal and social events.
