Building History

A short notice published in the San Francisco Examiner in 1888 stated: “The Board of Directors of the Olympic Club last evening accepted the report of the Building Commission. Messrs. Schulze & Meeker received the first award of bonds, and W.H. Smith and J.H. Littlefield the second and third awards, respectively. The first award carries with it the supervision of the construction of the new building to be erected on Post street, between Mason and Taylor.” (See “The Olympic Club Building,” San Francisco Examiner, 08/18/1888, p. 8.)

The first purpose-built clubhouse for this organization was dedicated on 01/02/1893.

Demolition
