On 07/11/2007, the National Archives officially opened the Nixon Library in the former building housing a private Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, CA. Transfer of the collections from the National Archives in College Park, MD, to Yorba Linda, in 2010.

Birthplace of Richard Milhous Nixon, U.S. Congressional Representative, U.S. Senator, Vice-President (1952-1960) and the 37th president of the United States (1968-1974) and the first to resign from office in 1974; National Historic Landmark; listed on the National Register of Historic Places;
