London, the author Jack London's wife, after their first house, Wolf House, burned in 1913; Charmian London died in 1955, and a nephew presented the property to the State of California in 1960; this house is now used as a museum dedicated to London and his work; located in 800-acre Jack London Historical State Park; California State Historical Landmark #743, named in 1960;
