Wolf House burned just after its completion in 1913; this was London's dream house, erected on his 1,500 acre "Beauty Ranch;" the ranch also contained a dam, lake, bathhouse, and agricultural buildings; Wolf House's ruins are now contained in the 800-acre Jack London Historical State Park; the property was deeded to the State of California by the author's nephew, Irving Shepard in 1960; the park was dedicated 09/20/1960;
