In 2011, this hotel was Gehry's second building in Spain, the first being the famous Bilbao Guggenheim (1997). The establishment, set in the Rioja wine region, was small and luxurious, having 43 guest rooms of which 11 were suites. The hotel also included a 132-seat restaurant. Design Partner: Frank O. Gehry Design partner, Project Designer: Edwin Chan; Project Partner: Terry Bell; Project Architect: Andy Liu. Gehry Partners collaborated with Executive Architect, IDOM, a Spanish firm that also served as the structural and mechanical/electrical engineers.
