Cliff May House in Sullivan Canyon.

May has often been touted as the "father of the ranch house," but many contributed to the development of this residential form. May helped to popularize the "Early California" look in the 1930s, but others, including the Greene Brothers and William W. Wurster, produced what might be called ranch houses well before May.
