Building History

Developed by AMCAL Enterprises, Incorporated, of Agoura Hills, CA, and the Las Palmas Housing and Development Corporation, the Somis Ranch Farmworker Housing Project became the largest migrant worker housing initiative in the history of Ventura County. Jensen Design and Survey, Incorporated, of Ventura, CA, served as the project's civil engineering firm.

According to the City of Camarillo, the housing development would contain 360 rental units, covering about 18.4 acres of a 36.34-acre site. One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with between 57 and 1,104 square feet were offered. The developed opened in three stages, with Phase I having 100 units, Phase 2 having 100 and Phase III having 160. The development will offer 654 parking spaces and 379 bike parking spots.
