Building History

The Richard E. Byrd Middle School #1 opened at 9171 Telfair Avenue in 1960, following the design of Robert Trask Cox, Architect.

Enlarged and remodeled, the complex opened as Sun Valley High School on 09/09/2009 to complement Sun Valley's John H. Francis Polytechnic High School that had become overloaded.
