Building History
Bernard R. Maybeck designed this small bungalow for Percy Herbert Atkinson (1852-1931) and his wife Eleanor Lloyd (d. 1928), who wed in Flinshire, Wales, in 1878. In 1909, Percy, who was a solicitor in England, worked as the Cashier of the Berkeley National Bank. (See Polk-Husted Company's Oakland, California, City Directory, 1909, p. 984.) The Atkinsons had five children two of whom lived at home in 1913.
