Bulding History

When built in 1966, this residence, designed by Australian-born designer and builder William Morgan, had the street address of 16043 SE 16th Street in Bellevue, WA. Morgan designed the building for Roland Hays, his wife and three children. As originally configured, the house had three bedrooms and two baths on its main living floor. It also had a 21-foot-by-16-foot-6-inch living room, a 17-foot-6-inch-foot-by-11-foot-6-inch family room, a 12-foot-by-9-foot-6-inch dining room and a 13-foot-by-11-foot-6-inch kithen and a small mud room. Off of the living and family rooms, a 300-square-foot deck looked out onto Phantom Lake. A stairway located nearby to the main entry, led to a basement. (See "Open House: Lake Home Has Unity of Materials--Inside and Out," Seattle Times, Real Estate and Planning section, 08/28/1966, p. 47.)

Later owner Howard Droker lost the house in foreclosure on 10/04/2002. The new owners were James A. and Diane M. Monahan. The Monahans divorced about a year later, with the house going to Diane. She likely leased the house on 01/05/2006 to Pitak and Suchada Sitthi for a specified term for $10,000. Ownership continued to be held by Diane M. Desgrosellier and her next husband John P. Desgrosellier on 01/10/2013. They continued to reside here in 2025. (See King County.gov, Parcel Data for Parcel #0224059013, accessed 05/20/2025.)

Alteration

At some point the original car port was fully enclosed into a garage. A sunbathing area that was depressed from public view near the front door was later filled in.

The Desgroselliers replaced the rear deck beginning on 08/08/2016 at a cost of $9,616. (See King County.gov, Parcel Data for Parcel #0224059013, accessed 05/20/2025.)
