Overview

The Hotel Cabrillo, located aboard a docked ship in Los Angeles's Venice neighborhood, was in operation in 1905. It was moored at a Venice pier opposite the Venice Auditorium.

This ship was placed on wood pilings and permanently moored at a Venice pier.

Building Notes

Restaurateur Carlo Marchetti (c. 1861-1937) opened a restaurant in the Hotel Cabrillo. (See "Famous Chef Is Lessee of the Hotel Cabrillo," Los Angeles Saturday Post, 05/13/1905, p. 5.)
