In its 09/28/1917 issue, the Southwest Builder and Contractor indicated that D.B. Benson had received a building permit to make alterations to the WCTU Building at 854 12th Street in San Diego. (See "San Diego County News San Diego Permits," Southwest Builder and Contractor, 09/28/1917, p. 25.)
