Building History
The wholesale sellers of drugs and groceries, Haas, Baruch and Company, had its main office at 320 North Los Angeles Street in 1900. (See Los Angeles, California, City Directory, 1900, p. 355.) This was just southeast of the main area of Downtown, in what is now the Little Tokyo neighborhood.
Building Notes
Well into the 20th century, Haas, Baruch and Company sold a variety of canned and bottled food items. Two popular canned-food labels sold by the firm included the Iris and Aster brands.
