Building History

The Brunswick Hotel in San Francisco, CA, was in operation in 1901. At that time, J.C. Drake acted as manager. The hotel offered single and en-suite rooms for between 25 cents to 1 dollar per night and $1.25 to $5.00 per week. The hotel advertised itself to be open all night. In 1900, the address was 148 6th Street, which was on the corner of 6th Street and Howard Street. (See Stockton City and San Joaquin County, California, City Directory, 1900-1901, advertising pages, np.) The street was renumbered and 148 6th Street was situated at the corner of 6th and Harrison Street in 2025.
