Building History
The first Sonoma County, CA, Governement Building operated on the Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa, between approximately 1854 and 1884. The first, purpose-built courthouse was erected on the square in 1884, and this operated until being destroyed in the San Francisco Earthquake of 04/18/1906. The second courthouse built on the site was erected in 1908-1909, and this functioned here until 1966.
