The Bolen Cabin won several awards in 1989 and 1990. These included a 1989 Western Homes Merit Award from Sunset Magazine in 1989; a People's Choice Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Seattle Chapter, 1989; an AIA Seattle Chapter Merit Award in 1990; and a Sunset Magazine Western Homes Merit Award in 1990.
