Buidling History
This two-floor building was originally located across the road from the National Park Inn #1 and was built in the 1910s. It was known as the National Park Inn's "Annex." When new ownership, Rainier National Park Company (RNPC), took over all resort hotel properties in the Longmire just before 1920, it moved the Annex to be closer to the 1906 hotel. In 1926, the National Park Inn #1 burned down, and the RNPC decided not to rebuild it. Instead, it renamed the Annex as the second National Park Inn. The Annex/National Park Inn #2 has functioned to present in Longmire. (See National Park Service.gov, "The National Park Inn," accessed 11/04/2024.)
