Overview

Spokane architects Cutter and Malmgren designed this residence for D.W. Twohy in an English Tudor style integrated with contemporary bungalow plan characteristics. The influence of contemporary bungalow design can be seen in the spreading compound hipped roof, clinker brick chimneys and front porte cochère.

Building history

Cutter and Malmgren produced this house design for Daniel Webster Twohy, Sr., (born 04/04/1864 in Copper Harbor, MI-d. 07/14/1954 in Spokane, WA), President of the Old National Bank and President of the Union Trust Company in Spokane. The house was situated at South Grand Boulevard and Sumner Avenue in the Cliff/Cannon neighborhood.
