An advertisement in the Shasta Daily Courier, an area busy with gold mining, stated of the bank: “The Pacific Loan and Security Bank, is now receiving deposits of cash from Ten Dollars upwards, at the rate of one and a-half per cent a month, and secured by mortgage for one year on spacious fire-proof brick building and lot 25x70, insured and advantageously located in this city.
