Architect John Galen Howard designed a concrete lecture hall appended to the Chemistry Building in 1913. Ths was demolished in 1959 to make room for Latimer Hall. Howard, UCB's campus architect, also design an annex to the Chemistry Building in 1915. This was torn down in 1963 to enable the construction of Hildebrand Hall. (See Sally B.
