Overview
This was the first residence of the Easterners John Galen and Mary Bradbury Howard in Berkeley, built in 1902-1903. In his early days in the city, Howard designed three nearby buildings on Ridge Road: his own house at 2421, Cloyne Court Hotel at 2420 (1904) and the Adolph Miller House at 2600 (1902-1903). His own residence lasted for twenty years before burning in a catastrophic fire in the city in 1923.
