Building History

The noted Berkeley architectural historian Sally B. Woodbridge documented the University of California Printing Office in her book, John Galen Howard and the University of California, The Design of a Great Public University Campus: "[The] printing office at 2 Barrow Lane (1917), a concrete building razed in 1964 to widen the Bancroft Way entrance at Telegraph Avenue." (See Sally B. Woodbridge, John Galen Howard and the University of California, The Design of a Great Public University Campus, [Berkeley: University of California Press, 2002], p. 178.) If it was located at 2 Barrow Lane, it likely was replaced by a landscaped pathway in 1964.
