Building History

In 1889, Mau designed a large, relatiively costly residence for Edward Collins. The Oakland Tribune reported on 03/20/1889: "Work on the foundation of a fine modern residence for Edward Collins was commenced last week. It is located on Harrison street near Durant. It will be of two stories and ten principal rooms. Twohig & Moore are the contractors, and Charles May is the architect.
