An notice in the Oakland Tribune said of this new school designed by Charles F. Mau: “Charles Mau, the architect, describes the new public school building at Pleasanton as 80x100 feet, and to comprise eight large class rooms and all the modern accessories of the best public schoolhouses. The cost will be $10,000.” (See “Pleasanton,” Oakland Tribune, 03/20/1889, p. 5.)
