Overview

The Holmes Terrace Flats, a cluster of five townhouses each containing two apartments, stood on the northwest corner of Pike Street and Minor Avenue in 1905.

Building History

The townhouses had the street address 1116, 1116A, 1118, 1118A, 1120, 1120A, 1122, 1122A, 1124 and 1124A Pike Street. In 1906, Peter Holmes resided at 1116A Pike Street. The process of widening Pike Street and Minor Avenue began in 1904, affecting Holmes's property. (See Superior Court of the State of Washington legal notice, Seattle Republican, 06/03/1904, p. 7.)
