In 1950, the actor and singer R. Norwood Smith (born 04/18/1915 in San Francisco, CA-d. 08/24/1999 in Camarillo, CA) resided in this small Brentwood house with his wife, Gloria Wolff (born 10/30/1922 in CA-d. 05/15/2002 in CA) their daughter Susie Lee Smith (born 10/25/1945 in Los Angeles County, CA-d. 09/01/2022 in NC) and a housekeeper, Emma Haddox (born c. 1898 in TX).

Smith was known for radio, television and stage performances during the 1940s through the 1970s. He married twice, the first time to Gloria Wolff with whom he had two daughters, Susan Smith Holden and Sandra Smith. He wed a second time to Elizabeth "Betty" J. Scott in CT in 1971.
