Building History

Proprietors of the City Garage sold Oakland Automobiles at 529 Alma Street in Palo Alto's auto row in 1926. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Palo Alto, California, City Directory, 1926, p. 318.) Eleven automobile garages and dealerships were crowded into the 400-600 blocks of Alma Street in 1926. Others were located nearby on High Street and Emerson Street.
