The Adelanto Detention Center, completed in 01/2006, was originally designed to serve as a Type II detention facility for 700 inmates. It was the first located in the High Desert Region of CA, and designed to meet California State Corrections Standard Authority regulations. The population of 700 was supervised by 160 guards, medical and general employees. Captain Jon Marhoefer was the chief administrator of the Adelanto Detention Center in 2012.
